what defines us

Being a “Christian” is a journey—an adventure.  Some people think that once you believe in Jesus it’s the end of the action … but in reality that’s where the trail begins.

Finding this trail can be a challenge.  We need a GPS for our soul, a trustworthy source of direction that will point us towards life, an inner GPS that will take us through adventures on the trail and will help us regain our bearings if we get lost.

God didn’t leave this pathway a mystery.  Since time began He helped people find this path.  Then, at the crux of history, He sent His own son who was able to declare, ““I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”  (John 14:6)  We believe that the Bible lays out this pathway, and that the pathway can be summed up in one word, “Jesus.”  That’s why the Church of the Good Shepherd helps people learn to follow Jesus in an authentic way.  If we follow Him, we will find more than salvation for our souls.  We will also find the way to bring renewal to our lives today, along with joy, peace, strength and confidence. Throughout history followers of Jesus have used a variety of metaphors for this process.
