30 Hour Famine

World Vision is such an amazing organization.  They are dedicated to making a difference in the world, to seeing the hungry fed, the thirsty given a glass of fresh water, the sick made well.  What's more amazing is that they offer realistic ways for everyone to join their cause, to stand up, DO SOMETHING, and be the change that the world so desperately needs.  2 weekends ago the CGS youth group joined forces with thousands of teens around the nation who are dedicated to putting an end to world hunger and poverty...enter the 30 Hour Famine.  We fasted for 30 hours, filling our empty stomachs with only juice so that we could (on a small level) experience what so many of our neighbors around the globe experience daily, hunger pangs.  We did service projects around our community, we collected donations for the local food bank, we collected over $1,000 that is being sent to World Vision and will be utilized to feed 3 starving children for a year.  I am so proud of the youth, and so thankful that this generation is driven toward making a difference.
